Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® is an international service organization founded in 1908 at Howard University by college-educated African American women. Chartered in May 2022, Alpha Beta Iota Omega was established to carry that legacy of service into the communities of Hurst, Euless, Bedford, Grapevine, Colleyville, Southlake, Keller, North Richland Hills, and surrounding areas—serving where we live, work, and raise our families.
Guided by the leadership of our International President, Danette Anthony Reed, and her theme Soaring to Greater Heights in Service and Sisterhood, our award-winning chapter approaches service with focus and care. We implement Alpha Kappa Alpha’s International Programs while also developing local initiatives that respond to what is happening in our communities. We listen first, work alongside our partners, and stay committed to efforts that create meaningful, lasting impact. Our service includes mentoring and guiding our youth, addressing food insecurity, supporting economic advancement, encouraging civic engagement, and our signature program for African American girls, the Brilliance in Bloom Institute.
This work is powered by women who show up prepared, engaged, and ready to serve. They bring their time, talent, lived experiences, and heart to every effort. Together, we honor the legacy of our Founders by serving with purpose and integrity.
